Saturn in Aries transit 2025-2028: i don’t wanna wait

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and it’s a cardinal sign. It is initiation on fire. Like a newborn baby, through Aries we are born screaming, covered in blood and vernix. There is a primal fragrance to Aries. Hooves, horns, straw, mountains, pastures. Slaughterhouses, meat markets, plastic sheets and dirt after rain. Pavement hot, wet and potholed and hotrods racing down the road. Aries, the ram, is born in the barn. Aries is first, it is only, it is vibrant but compresses into only One. Aries seizes the day, sublimates seed into action, and Aries doesn’t wanna wait.

Saturn in Aries 2025-2028

In stark contrast to the sign of Aries, Saturn does in fact want to wait, weigh, evaluate, plan. As the god of agriculture, Saturn is in no rush to reap and is willing to wait for the precise moment at which seeds will be most likely to succeed, and then it will tend to them as needed and reap only when the moment is just right. Saturn thinks in terms of years, decades, even lifetimes; Aries moves much quicker. Saturn is the rule; Aries is the unruly. There are so many incompatibilities between these two archetypes, but one place where Saturn and Aries seem to unite is in the symbol of the scythe — a sharp, martial tool used for the Saturnian purpose of reaping (or killing, if you’re in a horror movie or if you’re the grim reaper). Scythes are even made out of steel, a material made from iron, and iron is Mars’ metal. Nonetheless, Saturn is fallen in Aries because their nature is largely incompatible. However, like all fallen planets, Saturn in Aries is wise in important ways.

“what to do with fire” by Deniz Kaptan (website; Instagram; TikTok)

Saturn in Aries means that it is time to ask ourselves if we are truly living life while we still can, and seizing the day when (and only when) the moment is ripe. What would future you regret doing or not doing? You’ll be giving some thought to that over the next three years. But also keep in mind that you are learning to develop patience in the face of Aries’ urgency. During this time you must pace yourself and work gradually, recognize what is truly urgent and what isn’t, and find ways to sustain the flame of inspiration, enthusiasm, and liveliness so that you are living alight even on darker days.

You must build new systems and foundations in your life, ones that generate excitement and reliably generate that spark of inspiration and turn it into a dancing, spitting flame. You will probably be doing this without knowing how. Instead of waiting for lightning to strike, you are learning to rub two sticks together. Generating just the right amount of friction at just the right moment and in just the right place can create the spark of life, in fire and in our bodies, literally and metaphorically. Be ready to learn as you go and perhaps even make a fucking mess of it at first. Saturn will tell you that it is humiliating to be a beginner, but Aries affirms our nature as eternal beginners.

You are learning how and when to lean into independence and when to ask for or accept help and support from others. Challenge yourself on both self-doubt (are you really incapable, inadequate, or incompetent? perhaps, but perhaps not… and if you are, is it possible that it is fucking normal, healthy, and not remotely shameful to need other people? to not be able to handle everything on your own?) and on hyper-independence, and challenge the modern world on its dark allegiance to individualism and all of the exploitative, divisive, and capitalistic trappings that come along with it. You are developing steady, firm, and realistic self-trust through this transit.

We can expect further engorgement of the rising wave of conservatism and authoritative pressure to conform, especially with Neptune in Aries too — Aries likes the number one, chanting ‘there is only one right way!’ on its darker days. But Saturn in Aries also rebels and reliably breaks rules and writes new ones. (The “new rules” part of the story could be great or it could be disturbing.) On a personal level, once you develop your steady sense of self-trust, you may even be able to wander into the wild unknown, into uncharted territory, and create a map that has never existed before.
