How Neptune in Pisces has been fucking with your sign for the last 15 years
Women I Love, 1976
Neptune enters Aries for the long haul on January 26th. Prior to a six-month stint in 2025, Neptune hadn’t been in Aries since 1875. We got a pretty good first glimpse into this fresh hotspring of a transit over those next six months. Neptune spends 14-plus years in a sign, so that means that Neptune in Pisces has been fucking with one area of your chart for the better part of the last 15 years. This is truly the end of an era!

Neptune transits: what do they do?
Wherever Neptune is transiting in a person’s chart is an area of life where boundaries may be more difficult. It’s easy to get lost in that area, almost like you’re dissolving into it, and it’s an area where you may find more spirituality or creativity too. That area of life can feel pretty confusing, like nothing is really what it seems, or like you just can’t quite get a grasp on something to do with the topics of that house in your chart (or any planets of yours that it’s hitting along the way).
I want to note that while Neptune transiting any one house in the natal chart will have some similar themes no matter what sign it’s in, there is a huge difference between Neptune in Pisces and Neptune in Aries and these synopses of Neptune in Pisces through the houses won’t transfer cleanly over to Neptune in Aries in those same houses. Neptune in Aries will simply not be nearly as doggedly ‘Neptunian’ as Neptune in Pisces has been.
In modern astrology, Neptune is considered to be Pisces' ruling planet and while I don’t really use modern rulers in my practice, I don’t discount the connection; Neptune in Pisces is basically Neptune on steroids. Neptune and Pisces bounce off of and escalate one another like a group of teenagers whose parents are on vacation. Neptune in Aries, however, feels less like getting drunk alone in your bedroom and more like getting drunk in a loud karaoke bar, and the Neptunian fog is thinner with Neptune in Aries. In fact, Neptune in Aries is less outright foggy and more smoky. It’s equally weird to drive through it, but they definitely have a different scent and effect.

Neptune in Pisces for Pisces rising
Pisces risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 1st house. Neptune has been playing with your body, identity, sense of self, and the outward expression of the person you are. For some people this has meant unexplainable bodily issues, things that you just couldn’t figure out. Maybe your boundaries were quite porous (whether that is allowing people to violate your boundaries or you violating other people’s). Your sense of self was probably constantly evolving throughout this time (more than usual, anyway). Perhaps it was easy to hide during this period of time too, like you were able to use Neptune as a veil so that people can only see certain things about you. It also could have felt like this was totally beyond your control too, like no one can really get you, or like you’ve been particularly susceptible to the projections of others during this time.
Neptune in Pisces for Aquarius rising
Aquarius risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 2nd house, the house of security, money/finances, intake, and self-worth. If you worked in a creative or spiritual field, career and money probably went pretty well for you. If you didn’t, money might have been a bit of a challenge. Wherever Neptune is transiting, it’s hard to really grab onto topics of that house and hold onto them, so it can be hard to hold onto money while Neptune is transiting your second house. Your sense of self-worth may have been constantly in flux as well, or perhaps it felt like it was really affected by outside sources/forces in a way that it wasn’t before this transit and probably won’t be after it’s over.
Neptune in Pisces for Capricorn rising
Capricorn risings had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 3rd house, the house of close friends, siblings, comfort zone, mental health, communication, and your personal perspective. Feeling unheard is common with this transit, but one of the best ways to take this is to do creative writing – poetry, fiction, music, something where you’re using words or communicating in ways that are non-literal. You may have found yourself drawn to those kinds of things over the last 14 years. Sometimes this transit can also mean difficulties with friends, but it’s probably more issues with boundaries with friends, siblings, extended family, or people who live right around you. You also may have found yourself moving house quite often.
Neptune in Pisces for Sagittarius rising
Sagittarius risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 4th house, the house of home, family, ancestry, childhood, and the past. This can be difficult for boundaries with family. It can feel like they are asking far too much of you, like you’re sucked up into a vortex of expectation or obligation to family, and it may have been fueled by a sense of guilt. Your sense of home may have been difficult to hold onto. Maybe you literally had to move a lot, or you just never really felt at home, a constant wandering kind of vibe. Sag risings tend to have that anyway; it comes along with having Pisces in the 4th house to begin with. It also may have been hard to dig into the past, or maybe it was easy to get lost in the past, like it’s a swampy mess of nostalgia, or you were feeling stuck in the past because it can be so hard to consciously work through it under this transit. That’ll get easier now.
Neptune in Pisces for Scorpio rising
Scorpio risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 5th house, the house of romance, lovers, sexuality, pleasure, creativity, and children. This most commonly has to do with difficulties in romantic relationships. It doesn’t have to show up as difficulties – it can be incredible romance, merging with another person, etc. – but for a lot of people it has been quite challenging romantically. This may have looked like people failing to respect your boundaries, you not respecting theirs, or meeting partners who you think are amazing and then it’s nothing like what you expected once you’re in that relationship. You may also have found yourself getting lost in indulgences of all kinds. If you are a parent, you may have immersed your children in spirituality and art, struggled with developing boundaries with them, or simply felt like your relationship with them was confusing or hard to hold onto. At best, though, this may have been a very creative transit for you.
Neptune in Pisces for Libra rising
Libra risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 6th house, the house of routines, work, health, diet, and day-to-day activities. This most often seems to have correlated with feeling like you’re lost in the tedium of day-to-day life, and especially not having clear boundaries between work and the rest of life. They spill over into each other and you get lost in these 6th house things. For some people it’s been hard to adhere to a routine, or maybe you have gone through many different schedules/routines/diets/etc. This is also a transit under which you’ve benefited greatly from incorporating spirituality or creativity into your daily life; it was probably quite necessary in order to have energy and feel well. You also may have experienced unexplained health issues or struggled to understand what was going on with your body.
Neptune in Pisces for Virgo rising
Virgo risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 7th house, the house of other people, relationships, enemies, projections, and shadow work. For some people this transit has manifested as having trouble finding a partner, it’s like you’ve been reaching into that Neptunian fog trying to grab that love that you really want and you can’t find it, or you don’t know what you’re grabbing, you’re thinking it’s what you want and it ends up being nothing like what you expected. For others, there have been difficulties with boundaries with other people. On the plus side, this may have looked like deeply merging with another person, transcendent connections with others, learning about spirituality with other people, and creative collaborations. Your ability to have strong boundaries with others will probably improve significantly once Neptune leaves Pisces, and it may be easier to tell who’s a friend and who’s an enemy going forward.
Neptune in Pisces for Leo rising
Leo risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 8th house, the house of the deep psyche, intimacy, secrets, taboos, letting go, loss, money, debt, and unavoidable things that we’d prefer to avoid. This can be kind of a lonely transit – it may have felt like you can’t find the intimacy that you want, or if you do end up in an intimate relationship it’s not what you thought it was. Additionally, many Leo risings have been able to avoid consequences during this time. You also may have struggled to get to the bottom of the things you struggle with; it may have been hard to find the cause, the true root. Money may have been iffy with this transit, but if you were doing something creative or spiritual, money may have come more easily. Otherwise, it’s a toss-up; money could have been good, bad, or neutral.
Neptune in Pisces for Cancer rising
Cancer risings have had Neptune transiting their 9th house, the house of meaning, travel, education, spirituality, growth and discomfort (or the world beyond your comfort zone). For a lot of you, this transit has coincided with exploring all kinds of different spiritual paths, but it feels like no matter which direction you go, it’s hard to get a grasp on what’s truly meaningful to you, what matters to you, what life is really about for you. It may have been hard to figure that out under this transit. On the flip side, it can also be a spiritually enlightening transit! This was also a transit that’s good for escape, especially escaping discomfort. But with Neptune you’ll usually find that you can get away from something for a while, but once you escape the jaws of one monster, you usually end up in the jaws of another.
Neptune in Pisces for Gemini rising
Gemini risings have had Neptune transiting their 9th house, the house of career, public life, visibility, and long-unmet needs. Similar to the other air signs, if you’re working in a spiritual or creative field, your career may have been going great. If not, career may have been harder to get a grasp on or know where you wanted to go career-wise. This may have been harder for people experiencing this transit earlier on in life, especially in your 20s. The best way to take it is to incorporate spirituality or creativity in your career. You also may have felt unrecognized in your work, feeling like no one’s ever gonna truly see how great you are at what you do. But you were also able to use Neptune as a veil and get people to see whatever you (or they) want.
Neptune in Pisces for Taurus rising
Taurus risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 11th house, the house of ideals, ambitions, goals, friends, and community. One of the major things that this coincided with for a lot of Taurus risings seems to have been repeatedly moving from one goal to another. There were a lot of different things that you were interested in during this period of time and it was hard to settle on one goal. It also may have been difficult for you to hold onto friendships. But more than anything, this transit has shown up as getting lost in big ideals, especially other people’s ideas of what life is all about, or even getting lost in a group of people. Your ambitions and goals may have been fuzzy and hard to meet, and it will probably be a bit easier to move toward them and to know where you’re headed to begin with once Neptune leaves Pisces.
Neptune in Pisces for Aries rising
Aries risings have had Neptune in Pisces transiting their 12th house, the house of rest, healing, the subconscious, mental health, peace, and sabotage. This can be an interesting transit. It’s one under which rest is important, and healing and spirituality may have been big parts of your life during this time. But it can also be difficult to grasp what’s going on in your unconscious mind during this time, like you just can’t get ahold of your unconscious motivations. Escapism goes hard during this transit and you may have done whatever it took to get away from reality, consequences, and above all else, your fears. It is easy to isolate yourself during this time, or at least isolate parts of yourself, hiding them from the outside world, and sometimes even from yourself.
